Emily Fanzo - Head of School
I trained through the Surrey South Farnham programme in 2012/2013. It stood out because it not only allowed me to benefit from informative training days but also gave me the opportunity to fully immerse myself in the classroom environment. By working alongside experienced practitioners, who modelled excellent practice, I not only learnt the skills I needed to become a competent teacher, but also became inspired about the opportunities to develop my career within the teaching profession as a school leader.
This programme provided me with a plethora of opportunities, which helped me to develop my teaching practice. It taught me to always strive for excellence and high standards for the benefit of every single child, whilst providing me with a passion for teaching and learning. Because of this, I had the confidence to pursue Middle Leadership as English Leader after completing my second year of teaching, Assistant Headship in 2017, Deputy Headship in 2018 and Acting Headship in 2022.
Without the support that I had during my training, I do not believe I would have had the confidence to progress so quickly in my career.
