Alumni - where are our trainees now?
SF SCITT has an outstanding track-record in recruitment and retention of the region's finest primary and secondary teachers. Many have since progressed rapidly into leadership positions. To meet some of our past trainees who are now in school leadership, please click on their photographs above.
Opportunities for progression in primary and secondary education are plentiful. They can include leading a subject specialism, a year team or phase, SENDCO, Teaching and Learning lead, pastoral care, assistant/deputy headship and eventually leading school or group of schools.
Trainees that exceed the baseline expectation by the end of the training year have the opportunity to access our fast-track leadership programme beginning with Developing Middle Leaders.
National Professional Qualifications (NPQs)
As you progress in the teaching profession there are a wealth of professional leadership qualifications to support you at every stage of your career. In a few years after qualifying we hope to see you as a SCITT mentor demonstrating the outstanding support you will have received as a trainee!
We work closely with SFET Teaching School Hub who deliver the new specialist NPQs and reformed suite of leadership NPQs in partnership with STSN and Teach First.
NPQs support teachers and leaders who want to take the next step on their leadership journey and are motivated to make a difference in their school. Participants develop core knowledge and skills to prepare them for the long-term, as well as gaining the tools, examples and practice to start making a positive impact in their school straight away.
